Masaman Curry Friday, August 22nd, 2008

If you’ve read my blog 2 times you’re probably aware that I have a strong affinity for Thai food (to say the very least). Well, Cara told me she doesn’t like curry but she’s only had Indian curry and she’s willing to give some Thai curry a try. This is good for several reasons:

1) Any excuse for Thai curry is a good one

2) I have a chance to open the door on her curry world

3) Any excuse to make a meal for a good friend is always welcome :)

Thus, Thai Masaman curry was prepared, with garbanzo beans instead of tofu because I was out of tofu, and taste tested.

and…

I got a thumbs up!

Thai curries are a go now with Cara.

The week is already up here at my temping job and I’ll have to admit that I’m a bit sad. The people here have been kind and welcoming. It looks like you guys will all still have to keep your fingers crossed for me finding a permanent job though. The search is still going strong though.

Happy Friday!

Thai Curry Friday, April 25th, 2008

As my friends have pointed out to me oh so many times, curry is not for everyone. Thai curry especially but coconut milk is one of my favorite ingredients.
I love adding it to dessert, breakfasts and curries.

Above is a red curry from Jasmine Thai. I’ve blogged about this place many a time. They will veganize your orders and have great service- it probably doesn’t hurt that I go there so often.

This weekend was spent movie watching and on Sunday Justin Rudd’s chalk art contest.

I’m curious- what do you use coconut milk for? Am I the only coconut milk fanatic? :)

Red curry with tofu

Let’s face it, going out for Thai food adds up. This girl loves her some good curry. So what am I to do? Suppose I should learn to cook eh?

I have made curry about a handful of times (when I say handful, I really mean about 3 times- if that) and they have been less than stellar. I expected no different this time around- but hey, it’ll save this girl-on-a-budget a few bucks right?

Success! I loved this curry. Perhaps it was the new tofu I used or the added thai basil, whatever it was, I enjoyed and hope I replicate it often!

*Warning- This blog may make you feel sick from the cuteness! : ) *

It’s been a tough month with moving, finding new jobs and just getting used to having my boyfriend here.
Yesterday I came home and guess what?!
Richard bought me some chocolately sweets and had a card waiting for me.
The card said : “you had me at hello”

*open card*

“and yet you continued talking and almost BLEW the whole thing!!”

: )

hahahahaha
it was too cute. (of course he wrote his own sentiments inside as well)

Well richard also knows about my extreme love for thai food (after living there for 2 months how could i not love it?!)
Low and behold, richard got me my favorite Thai for dinner tonight. This place is the most authentic thai I’ve ever had in America (and believe me, I’ve trying quite a few).

The only thing you need to worry about at this place is the fish sauce (tell them to hold it when you order) Oh yea it’s called JASMINE THAI CUISINE (westminster, CA)

What a great bf I have. He definately knows the way to my heart- thru my stomach!! : )
Well, I do cook for him everyday hahaha I guess we have the same paths to our hearts
